Thermal Dynamics showcases New Mexico encaustic artists

"Thermal Dynamics," an exhibition showcasing the work of New Mexico encaustic artists opens Friday, July 3 at Albuquerque's Arts Alliance Gallery.  The exhibition continues through July 27th.  The Arts Alliance Gallery is located in the Courtyard Shopping Center, 1100 San Mateo NE, Suite #10 and will be open daily from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM for the duration of the exhibition.  A reception and book signing are scheduled for Friday, July 10th, from 5 PM - 8 PM.  Artists will be on hand to sign copies of "New Mexico Wax,"  just published catalog of the work of the state's encaustic artists.  The catalog retails for $25.

New Mexico Wax publishes catalog

Hot off the press is New Mexico Wax's first catalog of members' work. The catalog features full color photographs of the work of 34 New Mexico encaustic artists. "New Mexico Wax" also includes a history of how the organization was founded, a membership application, an essay describing what encaustic painting is, and brief statements by each artist about their work. The catalog will be on sale for $18 (our cost, including shipping) at the group's next exhibition, "Thermal Dynamics," opening July 3 at Albuquerque's Arts Alliance Gallery, Courtyard Shopping Center, 1100 San Mateo NE, Suite #10. The exhibition continues through July 27. Gallery hours are 10 AM - 5 PM daily (except Sundays) for the duration of the exhibit. A reception and book signing are scheduled for Friday, July 10th from 5 PM to 8 PM. Artists will be on hand at that time to sign copies of the "New Mexico Wax" catalog.
